Since inception there has been a steady growth in Rice exports in the last six decades. Initially the rice exports remaind under Government control until early 90's  and then deregulated into the private sector. A close study in last decade corroborates variances in quality parameters. This was needed to be addressed to protect the rice industry and in particular BASMATI rice being our National Heritage.
